Excavating & Drainage
Grading, excavation and drainage solutions that fix water at the source and prep sites right.
Water is the single biggest threat to a property, and most of the fight is won or lost underground. Standing water drowns plantings, breeds mosquitoes, undermines hardscape, and over time works against your foundation. Fixing it starts with finding where the water actually goes — not just where it's pooling.
We diagnose the real flow across the property, then build the solution that fits it: French drains to move subsurface water, catch basins to collect it, regrading to send it the right way, dry wells to hold volume, and downspout tie-ins so roof runoff isn't dumping against the house. Usually it's a combination.
On the excavation side, we handle the heavy earthwork that sets up every good project — site grading, digging for footings and features, hauling and moving material, and shaping a site so it drains and builds correctly. Getting the dirt right is what everything else sits on.
This work matters more in Central Indiana than most places. Our heavy clay soil drains slowly and holds water, and flat lots give it nowhere to go — which is exactly why so many local yards have chronic wet spots and soggy corners. We build for the way water actually behaves here.
When we're done, we regrade and restore the surface so the fix disappears into the yard. The goal is to end the water problem at its source so it doesn't come back with the next heavy rain — protecting your landscape, your hardscape, and your home.

Why It Matters Here
Central Indiana's heavy clay soil drains slowly and traps water, and flat lots leave it nowhere to go — the reason chronic wet spots and soggy yards are so common here. We size and build drainage for the way water actually behaves in Indiana clay, and handle the excavation and grading that sets a site up to drain right from the start.
Our Process
Diagnose
We map grade, soil, and flow to find the true source of the water.
Design
We spec the right mix of drains, grading, and excavation.
Build
Systems and earthwork installed to move water away for good.
Restore
We regrade and restore so the fix disappears into the yard.
Frequently Asked
Why does my yard stay wet after it rains?
Usually Indiana's clay soil and a flat grade with nowhere for the water to go. We find the actual cause and route the water away instead of just treating the wet spot.
Can drainage be done with a landscape project?
Ideally, yes. Solving drainage during a landscape or hardscape build is cheaper and cleaner than tearing things up to fix it later.
